Last Friday saw the conclusion of Discovery One Mobile Mania 2024 Powered by Airtel, the biggest mobile gaming tournament in the history of Bangladesh. The grand finals of each game — Call of Duty: Mobile, eFootball, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang — were held at the grand stage of International Convention City Bashundhara under bright lights.

Although the skies poured down as the day began, it didn’t stop enthusiastic gamers and Esports fans from flocking to the venue to support their favourite teams and players. According to a Discovery One official, more than 3000 people filled the venue to the brim and cheered at the top of their lungs throughout the event.

On the gaming side of things, Call of Duty: Mobile was the first title to kick things off. Twelve finalist teams took to the big stage in a 3-round battle royale fight to the end. After almost two hours of hard-fought matchups, it was Team 1HP that would take home the crown in convincing manner. They finished with 80 points, a whopping 32 points more than the runner-ups, LBD Reborn. SBD Warriors finished very close in third place with 47 points. 1HP Snorlax was the MVP with 11 kills in the Grand Finale alone!

Up next on eFootball, finalists Abdullah Bin Jahangir and Ryan Ismail went head-to-head against each other. With the stakes higher than they’ve ever been, Ryan managed to get the last laugh as he clinched the champion’s belt with a clean 2-0 sweep. However, Abdullah still went home with the lauded MVP prize for his massive tally of 52 goals throughout the tournament.

Over on MLBB, finalists Comfort Crowd were the clear favourites coming into the Grand Finale as the crowd roared in support for the men donned in red. Despite the intimidation, SGC Kingsmen put on a valiant show. But in the end, it wasn’t enough as Comfort Crowd dominated the game 2-0. Their very own Larsss managed to pick up the MVP title as well with a total of 71 kills. SGC Kingsmen bowed out with the runners-up title with Supreme Sonata following behind as the second runner-ups.

The entire Grand Finale was a treat for those who attended and for those watching from home. Arrangements such as a gaming experience zone, food stalls, photo booths, etc. were made by Discovery One and partners so that attendees could have a memorable experience. And as a cherry on top, mammoths of the rock industry, Artcell, closed out the night with an exhilarating concert featuring some of their top tracks and cult classics.

On the other hand, the entire event was live-streamed with Zenetic Esports and Level 7 Marketing Solutions at the helm, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience for everyone who couldn’t attend in-person.

Dekko Isho Venture Capital, Paramount Venture Capital, Nova Labs, City Bank, KSRM, Flora Web Services, Pathao Pay, and Speed were the partners of the event. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Level 7 Marketing Solutions, and Zenetic Esports were the affiliate partners. Polar was the icecream partner. The cumulative prize pool for the entire tournament across all three games was 3 million BDT.
