The largest mobile gaming event in Bangladesh’s Esports history, D1 Mobile Mania 2024 powered by Airtel, kicked off earlier in May this year. With an accumulative prize pool worth over 30 lakh BDT (25,000 USD approx.), the mega event sent mobile gamers across the country into a frenzy.

In the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang segment, 128 hopeful teams set out for their shot at the ultimate prize. After months of back-and-forth matchups, only the top three teams remain as the semi-finalists.

The first two teams to advance to the penultimate stage were Supreme Sonata and Comfort Crowd. The third and final team, SGC - Kingsmen, solidified their place at the eleventh hour by beating Recon Legion in the very last quarter-final match.

TDE reached out to two of the semi-finalist teams to talk about their journey throughout the tournament and what they have in store for the remaining games.

Biplob “Omniversal No.1Drip” Chakma from Supreme Sonata shared, “We started out with shaky expectations since our team didn’t get many opportunities to practice together. But slowly, we started building some good momentum and our confidence levels rose. Even so, we never thought we could beat experienced squads like Hot Ants, Blank Nation, etc.”

Mehedi “Gowther” Alife from Comfort Crowd, however, was fuelled by passion and a barrage of unpleasant past experiences, “We had some very negative experiences in a few past tournaments. Our young players were very distressed about these things, but we vowed to transform that into motivation to do even better,” he exclaimed.

The IGL further shared, “We have been dominating each and every opponent we’ve faced till now. Coming up, we would love to play against SGC - Kingsmen since we have some unsettled business. We’ll be sure to take them down convincingly, because we’re confident that we’re the best team in this tournament.”

Sources have told us that the semi-finals of D1 Mobile Mania will take place on the 29th and 30th of June.
