T1 and G2 have secured their spots in the Masters Bangkok playoffs after dramatic victories over DRX and Team Liquid, respectively, sending shockwaves through the tournament. Alongside EDG and Vitality, these teams will continue to compete for supremacy in the Asian capital Bangkok.

T1 and DRX, hailing from the Pacific region, entered the event with high stakes in the Swiss stage. Both teams had a rocky start, each facing tough competition, with the last few matches determining whether they'd make it through. DRX, as the Pacific's first seed, was up against T1, their long-time regional rival with both being Korean Teams. In the other match, European powerhouse G2 Esports faced Team Liquid, who had stunningly swept Sentinels the previous day but faltered in their elimination match.

The Pacific derby started on DRX's map choice, Fracture. Despite DRX's early lead, T1 found their rhythm after a timeout, leveling the score before claiming the map 13-11. On T1's pick, Bind, they displayed dominant control, finishing 13-4 with key performances from Meteor, propelling them into the playoffs for the first time in recent history after ending DRX's 7-0 head-to-head streak. G2 Esports, proving their dominance, crushed Team Liquid on both Haven and Icebox. Liquid fought valiantly but struggled against G2's precision and coordination, particularly in Haven, where G2 secured a commanding 13-7 win. Despite Liquid's valiant efforts and their form after eliminating SEN in their last match, G2’s well-rounded play secured them the series, advancing them to the playoffs.

The Masters Bangkok playoffs will take place on February 27 and March 1.
