Two teams with huge fans, huge popularity, and huge stakes faced each other in the Elimination stage of VCT Masters Bangkok, which started on 20th of Feb and is the first Masters of 2025 Valorant Esports Roadmap to be followed by Masters Toronto. With both Team Liquid and Sentinels coming off a loss in Round 1 from Edward Gaming and DRX, the loser of the match was supposed to be eliminated from the Championship.

The only two times in history when Team Liquid played Sentinels were in the AVL (AfreecaTV Valorant League) 2023 Swiss stage and earlier in the Valorant Champions 2021 Upper Bracket. In that match, Liquid beat Sentinels 2-1, even though it was a long time back when TL had soulcas and ScreaM while SEN had ShahZam and TenZ. However, in the AVL Swiss, Sentinels revenged 2-1 at TL with the iconic roster having TenZ, Zellsis, curry, and johnqt. But it seems like Liquid took the head-to-head stakes back, decimating them in Bind.

Despite some faulty rounds from SEN and solid retakes from TL, SEN managed to bag a close 13-7 win on the first map, Lotus. Even though SEN looked promising in the first half of Abyss picked by Liquid, some 4Ks and 3Ks from Liquid led them to a head-to-head overtime battle but ultimately winning 16-14. However, on the decider BIND, Liquid didn’t waste a second after a pistol round win, taking three rounds swiftly, and a 3K and 4K from nAts led to a dominating first half for TL, while SEN was close to a win but managed none. A comeback was nearly impossible for Sentinels. Liquid started the second half with a fast hit on A Site, taking the pistol round and getting right to the map and series point.

SEN had no choice but to force a buy, but Liquid's firepower was too much to stave off elimination. The second round of the second half was the end of it all, as Team Liquid eliminated Sentinels with a 13-1 on Decider Bind and stayed alive at VCT Masters Bangkok while Sentinels took home a consolation of 10 Grand and no VCT points.
