After 4 long years of development and early access gameplay, the Bangladesh-based tactical shooter Zero Hour has finally been released in its full form, dubbed Zero Hour 1.0. Developed and published by local game development company Attrito M7 Productions LTD on September 09, Zero Hour is a online multiplayer FPS that aims to make an indelible mark in our country’s game development scene.
Zero Hour take its gameplay cues from the likes of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Swat 4. 10 players participate in 5v5 matches that centre around game modes like Bomb Defusal, Hostage Rescue, and Deathmatch, whilst using a limited pool of arsenals and utilities in enclosed spaces. Furthermore, the game’s 18 different maps are based around various locations within the capital city of Dhaka.
This focus on Bangladeshi elements has been a part of ‘Zero Hour’ since its initial inception and subsequent development. The company that the game is published under, Attrito M7 Productions LTD, is a joint collaboration between two separate organisations. Circa 2015, M7 Productions was a group of enthusiastic developers focusing on creating assets for video games, whereas Attrito Limited specialised in architectural visualisation projects internationally. Their collaboration began with a successful project that involved creating game assets for a segment of Dhaka City. Following suit, both organisations decided to continue their work together and conceived what eventually became the early access version of ‘Zero Hour’ in late 2020.
And since then, there has been constant work done on the game via patches and updates, improving it from a bare bones borderline proof of concept to a full fledged game that is waiting to be played.
In an exclusive statement made to The Daily Esports, Atritto M7 expressed excitement for the road ahead, “We are very happy and excited about what the future holds for us. We want to thank all of our fans for their patience and support throughout the journey. We hope you will love and enjoy version 1.0.”
Zero Hour can be purchased on Steam for 8.99 USD.
