In an interview with the French fantasy magazine Chimères, Andrzej Sapkowski, the revered author of the Witcher series, revealed that he has completed a new Witcher book. Sapkowski also shared that he does not have any plans about the road ahead as of yet.
"I have finished the book," Sapkowski said. "It took me around two years, give or take."
While the main Witcher saga concluded with The Lady of the Lake in 1999, Sapkowski returned to Geralt's world with Season of Storms in 2013, which is set between the early short stories. This new book is also expected to fit within the existing timeline, as Sapkowski has previously stated he isn’t interested in continuing the saga beyond its current conclusion.
"The story is complete," he mentioned at Warsaw Comic Con in 2018. "The saga has been wrapped up, so if I write anything more in The Witcher universe, it will likely be a prequel or a sidequel, not a sequel."
The new book is slated for release in Polish by the end of the year, with an English translation anticipated in early 2025. Meanwhile, The Witcher 4 is in development at CD Projekt Red. Voice actor Doug Cockle has confirmed he will return to voice Geralt, although he won’t be the main character this time.
