2024 has been an year of some amazing game releases so far, with games like ‘Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth’, ‘Dragon's Dogma 2’, ‘Helldivers 2’, and ‘Tekken 8’. But as we move through August, there are still several highly anticipated game releases remaining yet. So, here's a list of the top 10 launching in August and the coming months.

Black Myth: Wukong (Action, RPG)

‘Black Myth: Wukong’ is an action RPG revolving around Chinese mythology, where you set out as the Destined One to venture into the challenges and marvels that lie ahead, searching for the concealed truth underneath the veil of a legend from the past. ‘Black Myth: Wukong’ is a boss rush action RPG with challenging boss fights, limited health restoration, and the expectation of multiple retries. Due to the presence of these mechanics in “Souls-borne” games, it has also been hailed by anticipants as a "Souls-like”. Whether or not it is so, can only be determined via playing it. The game is set to release on the 20th of August.

Star Wars Outlaws (Open-World, Action, Single-Player)

The first-ever open-world ‘Star Wars’ game is set to be released on the 30th of this month. It takes place between ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Return of the Jedi’ and features various iconic and new locations across the galaxy. Players take on the role of Kay Vess, a scoundrel seeking freedom and a fresh start, and navigate the criminal underworld with their companion Nix.

Level Zero: Extraction (PvPvE, Extraction-Shooter, FPS)

A unique dark take on asymmetrical PvPvE multiplayer, ‘Level Zero: Extraction’ is a tactical extraction shooter meeting an immersive survival horror experience, where you can either play solo or with friends as rival mercenaries fighting desperately for the loot, or as alien monsters hunting down humans. The game is to be released on August 13th, 2024.SMITE 2 (Action, MOBA, Third-Person)‘SMITE 2’, the ‘Unreal Engine 5’-powered sequel to the legendary third-person action MOBA has everything adored by the MOBA community in droves alongside challenging competition, intense action, ability-driven combat, rewarding teamwork, and godly mythology. All of it has the fans of its prequel all pumped up for its release on August 27th.

Concord (FPS, 5v5, Multiplayer)

Set to release on the 23rd of August, ‘Concord’ is a character-driven 5v5 team-based first-person shooter set in a vibrant sci-fi universe, where you assume the role of the crew of the ‘Northstar’ as a group of outlaws and adventurers working as mercenaries. Build your line-up of ‘Freegunners’ and team up with friends and fellow mercenaries online to take down rival teams across worlds in the Wilds of space in a range of objective and respawn-based game modes.

Enotria: The Last Song (RPG, Souls-like, Single-Player)

Set in a beautiful sun-lit world inspired by Italian folklore, ‘Enotria: The Last Song’ is a souls-like game where you wear unique role-altering masks, face formidable enemies, and alter reality with the power of ‘Ardore’ in your quest to discover the secrets of Enotria. Though the initial release date of the title was on the 21st of August, in May the developers have pushed it back to 19th September.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta (Action, FPS, Multiplayer, Single-player)

Set in the early 1990s, during a period of transition and upheaval in geopolitics, with the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower, ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’ is a spy action thriller, featuring a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience and the return of Round-Based Zombies. The game’s said to be the twenty-first installment of the ‘Call of Duty’ series and the seventh entry in the ‘Black Ops’ sub-series, with its multiplayer beta being released on the 30th of August.

Path of Exile 2 Beta (Action, RPG, Co-op)

‘Path of Exile 2’, set years after the original ‘Path of Exile’, is a next-gen free-to-play Action RPG featuring co-op for up to six players where you will return to the world of Wraeclast, seeking to put an end to the continuously spreading corruption. With the devs expecting the beta to launch “towards the end” of 2024, the month of August might be a good possibility.

World of Warcraft: The War Within (MMO, RPG)

The upcoming tenth expansion pack for the MMO RPG title ‘World of Warcraft’ is waiting for its release on the 26th of August. Following ‘Dragonflight’. It will be the first part of the ‘Worldsoul Saga’ trilogy of expansions, where your journey will take you through the unseen subterranean worlds filled to the brim with hidden wonders, down to the depths of the Nerubian empire, a place where the malicious ‘Harbinger of the Void’ is gathering arachnid forces to bring down Azeroth.

Visions of Mana (Action, RPG)

‘Visions of Mana’, the upcoming fifth main title in the ‘Mana’ series, is an Action RPG scheduled for release worldwide on August 29, 2024. In the game, the protagonist Val and his childhood friend Hinna, the newly appointed ‘Alm of Fire’, set off on a journey to the Mana Tree. Through adventures with friends met along the way, they start to see the truth about the world. The game’s iconic, vibrant, and vast semi-open field contains adorable yet ferocious monsters, where you’ll engage in swift three-dimensional battles using the power of the Elementals.
