Famed Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has officially launched his own esports organisation, named TC Esports. The venture will apparently centre around virtual motorsports, a personal passion of Courtois, and will aim to bridge the gap between esports and traditional motorsports.
“I’ve always wanted to have my own esports team, as sim-racing can also open doors in the world of motorsport, and it’s something we also want to bet on at TC Racing,” Courtois stated during the announcement.
Courtois has previously taken part in sim-racing events during the COVID-19 pandemic alongside Formula 1 stars like Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris.
This move reflects a growing trend among professional athletes who have embraced esports as a platform for diversifying their interests. And with Courtois at the helm, it seems that TC Esports is set to make waves in competitive gaming and motorsport collaborations.
