The Esports World Cup (EWC) is an annual international esports tournament series recently replacing the Gamers8 festival. It's funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and run by the Esports World Cup Foundation.

The first-ever Esports World Cup is happening right now in 2024! It begins on July 4th and will run until August 25th. The competition features 22 events across multiple esports games, making it one of the biggest esports tournaments in the world.

The latest additions were Call of Duty Warzone and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. These two final additions to the roster take the total number of games to 21. The Warzone tournament will feature a prize pool of $1m and the Modern Warfare 3 tournament will feature a pool of $1.8m.

The Warzone competition will feature 21 teams whereas the MW3 competition will feature 16. As with every other game, the results of these newly added competitions will contribute to the “Club Championship” where Esports organizations will compete across multiple games for a $20m pool on top of each game's pools.

The organizers of EWC have announced that these additions are the final ones to the event, bringing the total number of competitions to 22. The EWC provides a great opportunity for esports fans to witness the world's best players competing for glory. It also serves as an excellent introduction for new fans to learn about esports and explore a variety of different games. With two of the most popular titles of modern times included in its lineup, the EWC is on track to become the largest esports event ever!
