After four days of heated matchups, T1 Esports emerged victorious as the LoL champions of the 2024 Esports World Cup. The victory came after defeating Top Esports in a thrilling Bo5 match, with a scoreline of 3-1.

Top Esports began the finale strongly and took home the first round with a 12-4 scoreline. While things looked concerning for T1, Faker and his team bounced back strongly in games 2 and 3, with a particularly dominating 18-6 victory in round 3. The fourth, and eventually the final, round also went to T1 in convincing fashion, securing their victory with 3 consecutive rounds in the bag.

T1’s triumph at the Esports World Cup not only brings home $400,000 in prize money but also adds one of the most unique and prestigious trophies to their already-stacked cabinet. This victory is especially significant as it etches the team’s name in Esports history, being one of the champions of the inaugural Esports World Cup.

T1 previously defeated Bilibili Gaming and Team Liquid to reach the grand Final, both with a 2-1 scoreline. Meanwhile, Top Esports took down both Gen.G and G2 Esports 2-0 to lock in their spot in the final round.

T1’s Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok clinched the MVP award for his dominating performance.
