Valorant's newest agent Iso is getting nerfed! After a strong showing following buffs in patch 8.11, Riot Games developer @penguinVALORANT confirmed the changes coming to Iso.

The focus of the nerfs is Iso's signature ability, Double Tap. This shield-granting ability was a bit too powerful, especially in pistol rounds. Here's what's changing:

  • Double-kill reset removed: Iso won't regain a charge after getting two kills with Double Tap. This limits him to one activation per use.
  • Shield duration reduced: The shield granted by Double Tap will only last 12 seconds, down from 20. This gives enemies a bigger window to counter Iso.

These changes aim to make Iso less dominant while still preserving his viability. The developers at Riot want to create a more balanced playing field without completely shutting Iso out. According to @penguinVALORANT, “Removing the reset gives Iso just one activation, and reducing the duration should create a clearer window for opponents to deny him fights.”

This nerf arrives with patch 9.0, marking the start of Episode Nine, Act One in Valorant. Iso players will need to adjust their strategies, while everyone else can expect a (hopefully) more balanced experience facing the shielded Duelist.
