Following the success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, CD Projekt Red has confirmed plans for more animated content set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. During a recent earnings call, co-CEO Michał Nowakowski reiterated a previous announcement and confirmed that there won’t be a second season of Edgerunners. However, he assured that the studio is actively planning additional animation projects for the Cyberpunk universe.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, released in 2022, was a huge commercial success that helped rejuvenate interest in the game after its rocky launch. CDPR previously expressed interest in expanding the Cyberpunk and The Witcher franchises into other media formats. Although the studio is currently focused on developing The Witcher 4 and pre-production on Cyberpunk 2, more animated stories from Night City are on the horizon.

Additionally, CD Projekt is reportedly collaborating with Anonymous Content to develop a live-action Cyberpunk TV series, further expanding the franchise beyond video games.
