The Lazer Wave Presents FIFA Emergence Cup, powered by B.net, was a huge success on September 21 at Autograph Live Music Cafe in Banasree, Dhaka. Organized by Lazer Wave and sponsored by B.net, 64 FC24 players competed for an 8,000 BDT prize pool. Despite registration being open from August 29 to September 17, the event sold out by the 11th, delivering an electrifying atmosphere on game day.
The day’s action-packed showdown started at 10 AM and wrapped up by 6 PM, with players battling fiercely for the top spot. In the end, Zayed Ul Haque emerged victorious, taking home 5,000 BDT, a shining trophy, and an exclusive player edition jersey. Close behind, runner-up Ruhan Tanzil Hossain fought hard and walked away with 3,000 BDT and his own jersey, marking a thrilling finish to an intense competition.
Ayan Aadiyaat, co-founder of Lazer Wave had some words to share on organizing this tournament: “Organizing this was a rollercoaster experience. It was our first time organizing an esports tournament, so we were tense and doubtful about selling all the tickets, but the response was amazing. We were anxious at first, but when the event ended, we were happy and confident,” says Aadiyat. “A lot of people are texting us about the FC25 Emergence Cup, so we might do it soon. We have bigger plans and will do it on a much bigger scale.”
The event had the support of numerous partners and organizations, helping along the event, including Rabona as the clothing partner, AAZ as the fashion partner, Peña Madridista Bangladesh as the community partner, Gamers' Street as the gaming partner, Minimalist Gaming as the giveaway partner, Autograph Live Music Cafe as the venue partner, and Guardian BD as the supporting partner.
Although relatively small-scale, the event's success despite being a LAN event, which is generally very difficult to execute, sets a precedent for esports passion of a growing community in Bangladesh.
