Konami Digital Entertainment (hereafter "KONAMI") announced on October 10 that it has signed a partnership agreement with the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to collaborate on the ongoing global development of eSports.

As part of this initiative, two FIFAe World Cup tournaments, featuring eFootball as the competitive title for both mobile and console platforms, will be held in 2024.

The goal of this collaboration between KONAMI and FIFA is to elevate the global football community’s excitement through eSports. The FIFAe World Cup will kick off its in-game qualifiers on October 10, with two tournaments – one for mobile and one for console platforms. The champion of each tournament will be crowned the FIFAe World Champion.

For the first tournament, representatives from 18 countries and regions, chosen based on factors such as player pool and past performances, will be invited to the finals of the FIFAe World Cup. With the latest version of eFootball, players from all around the world will have the chance to participate in this thrilling new global event.

The participating countries and regions for the inaugural FIFAe World Cup held through eFootball include Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, England, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand, and Turkey.
