Valve has gladly brought the most requested and popular “Pool Day” map to Counter-Strike 2 via the latest update. This throwback is part of a set of updates designed to fine-tune the marriage of old school and new school in the widely played shooter. As usual, there are some new additions that are part of the company’s never-ending process of improvement of Counter-Strike 2: there are new maps, Ancient and Anubis, for example. But it also views the removal of the fan favorite 2v2 Wingman mode for a while as the developers work on fine tuning the game before its launch.
Besides map changes, the update has lots of other gameplay and animation enhancements. Improved head and foot animations, changes to grenade interaction with water and other small improvements improve realism and the movement of the game. Moreover, the update also lets the players open the workshop for custom maps to be made by the members of the community, which can be played on the community servers or locally.
A quirky new feature also adds humor to the game: Players are also able to cook in-game chicken with molotov cocktails to get a comical roast chicken appearance.
Counter-Strike 2 hype increases with each update Valve releases, although the game is yet to be launched officially. Until the next major shift, players can at least get the best of both worlds in the latest update.
