Ubisoft Forward 2024 brought a slew of exciting announcements, providing fans with new details on upcoming games and updates for beloved franchises. Here's a breakdown of all the major reveals.

Star Wars Outlaws

Ubisoft kicked off the event with a deep dive into ‘Star Wars Outlaws’, a new open-world adventure game set for release on August 30. Players will step into the shoes of Kay Vess, a scrappy bounty hunter navigating a dangerous universe. The gameplay showcase featured intense battles both in space and on the ground, interactions with criminal cartels, and visits to iconic locations like Tatooine. Ubisoft also released an overview trailer highlighting the game’s diverse environments, alien species, and cooperative dynamics between Kay and her companion, Nix.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

For the first time, the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ series is heading to Japan with ‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’, launching on November 15. Players will choose between two protagonists: the stealthy shinobi Naoe and the powerful samurai Yasuke. A 13-minute gameplay walkthrough at the event highlighted the dual gameplay styles, emphasizing stealth and direct combat. Fans were treated to a detailed look at Naoe's night-time infiltration mission, showcasing the game’s blend of stealth and action.

Prince of Persia

Ubisoft celebrated the 35th anniversary of the ‘Prince of Persia’ franchise with several announcements:

  • ‘Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’ will receive a free content update including revised bosses, new challenges, and new outfits. Additionally, the story DLC ‘Mask of Darkness’ is slated for release in September.
  • ‘The Rogue Prince of Persia’ will see an update called ‘Temple of Fire’, bringing new challenges to the early access game.
  • The long-awaited ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake’ now has a release window set for 2026.

XDefiant

Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter ‘XDefiant’ is gearing up for its first season, starting July 2. The new season will introduce additional maps, a Capture the Flag mode, new weapons, and the GSK faction from the ‘Rainbow Six’ series. The update promises a variety of new content, including new maps such as Daytona and Clubhouse.

Anno 117: Pax Romana

The next entry in Ubisoft's long-running city-builder series, ‘Anno 117: Pax Romana’, is set to release in 2025. Players will assume the role of a Roman governor, managing the challenges of ancient provincial life. The reveal featured a humorous live-action trailer, highlighting the quirky difficulties of governing a Roman province, including interactions with loyal, yet troublesome, goats.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - The Sky Breaker

The next big story DLC for ‘Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’, titled ‘The Sky Breaker’, is launching on July 16. This expansion will be available as part of the game’s season pass and continues the storyline with new challenges and adventures.

Skull and Bones

‘Season 2: Chorus of Havoc’ is currently underway in ‘Skull and Bones’, with updates including the addition of a Megalodon, a new maneuverable ship called The Brig, and time-limited boat race events. Upcoming content in Season 3, titled ‘Into the Dragon's Wake’, will introduce a Flying Dragon sea monster and a new 5v5 PvP mode.

The Crew Motorfest Year 2 Roadmap

‘The Crew Motorfest’ is preparing for its second year of content, featuring a new island, vehicles, playlists, and more. The new content, including a storyline called ‘The Chase Squad’, will roll out in November.

Monopoly

A digital adaptation of the classic board game will be released for PC in September.
