G2 Stride has clinched a remarkable victory at the Rocket League Championship Series 2024 Major 2, set in London at the Copper Box Arena. This was the first time ever that a fully American team has won an RLCS LAN tournament in eight years of competitive Rocket League Tournaments.
The champion team consisted of Massimo "Atomic" Franceschi, Daniel "Daniel" Piecenski, and Landon "BeastMode" Konerman, with Matthew "Satthew" Ackermann as their coach.
G2 Stride took on Team Falcons in a best of 7 championship match. After a number of hard-fought matches throughout the tournament, G2 didn't disappoint in the Grand Finale as they outplayed their competitors, thus securing their victory with a score of 4-1.
The prize pool of the RLCS major consisted of 255,000 USD, which was distributed among top 16 teams and RLCS Circuit points. The MVP of the tournament was G2 Beastmode. With this win, G2 will next participate in the RLCS World Championship. And only time will tell if they’ll maintain the same level of competency there, so G2 fans should stay tuned.
