On June 27, 2024, in Hanoi, Funtap Joint Stock Company (Funtap Games) announced that they will partner with MOONTON Games to become the new publisher of the e-sports game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) in Vietnam.

With long-term prior expertise in the gaming industry and worldwide scale of operations, Funtap Games will focus resources enhancing the strengths of the MLBB market in Vietnam, with the overarching aim of building and developing MLBB further within the country. This will be done through activities such as raising movements in the community and establishing tournament systems.

In that regard, Funtap Games CEO, Mr. Dao Quang Tuan, has stated that the company will work with the Vietnam Entertainment Electronic Sports Association (VIRESA) to create grassroots, semi-professional, and professional tournament systems between 2024 and 2025. This will help choose players for the Vietnam national esports team and enable them to compete in both regional and international MLBB tournaments. Funtap Games also hopes to expand the MLBB sport to reach out to women in the context of an increasing number of international competitions for women, with the women's national team participating in the Sport Festival.

The Vietnam Esports Association previously announced that it would work with FPT Online on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang events. Along with helping the national team, particularly with the FPT Cup National Championship that is set to start this year, this cooperation would include organizing and carrying out both domestic and international competitions. The association aims to promote the future development of professional and high-performance sports, improve national achievements, and create all-encompassing and sustainable e-sports.
