Forza Horizon 4, a game that forged memories with harmonies of engines roaring through the streets of Edinburgh will soon be taken away forever from the grasp of future players– announces Microsoft today, due to expiring licenses.
This comes as a reminder that the game will be removed from digital storefronts in December 2024. After this, it will no longer be available for purchase. The current Festival Playlist, which runs until August 22nd, will be the final one. Once it ends, the playlist screen will no longer be accessible for new content, but you can still view the Festival Playlist history. However, you will still have access to daily and weekly challenges. Completing these challenges will earn you Forzathon Points that can be exchanged for Backstage Passes, giving you access to a rotating selection of cars.
All Forza Horizon 4 DLCs will be delisted today, with only the standard, deluxe, and ultimate editions of the game available for purchase until the full delisting which will take place on December 15th. Currently, the game’s currently on sale on Steam for $12/£11/€14. Additionally, developer Playground Games stated that it’ll go on sale on the Microsoft Store on the 14th of July.
Despite the saddening news of its delisting, Forza Horizon 4 will, however, be fully functional, both offline and online while being downloadable, but only for pre-existing owners– unlike The Crew, which became completely unplayable a few months after its removal from storefronts in December 2023.
