Guy Beahm, popularly known in the gaming community as Dr Disrespect, has come under intense fire after evidence regarding his lifetime ban from Twitch surfaced recently. The allegations claim Beahm was permanently banned from the streaming service for inappropriately texting a minor and attempting to arrange a meetup at TwitchCon.

After these came to the limelight, Midnight Society, the game studio Dr. Disrespect co-founded, swiftly terminated their relationship with him. The decision was made to uphold the studio’s principles and maintain dignity for all individuals involved, especially the fifty-five developers and their families.

Writing in a post on X, the streamer admitted to texting "an individual minor" in 2017, but asserted his innocence. "Nothing illegal happened, no pictures were shared, no crimes were committed, I never even met the individual. Let me be clear, it was not a criminal case against me and no criminal charges have ever been brought against me.” However, he did call the text messages "casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate".

In a recent livestream, Beahm again dismissed the mass social media uprising against him, claiming that “all this has been probed and settled.” However, Midnight Society’s swift action indicates otherwise. "On Friday evening we became aware of an allegation against one of our co-founders, Guy Beahm aka Dr Disrespect," the studio said in a statement. "In order to maintain our principles and standards as a studio and individuals, we needed to act. For this reason, we are terminating our relationship with Guy Beahm immediately."
