Dark Souls fans rejoice, as the series will be receiving an English version of the original manga series, “Dark Souls: Redemption”, and it is set within their very own lore-rich world.

The manga "Dark Souls: Redemption" is set to receive an English release. Originally available only in French through Mana Books, the manga will be localized globally by Yen Press. The first volume will hit bookshelves on August 27, with preorders opening soon. The retail price is set at $15 USD and $19.50 CAD.

Written by Julien Blondel with art by Shonen, "Dark Souls: Redemption" presents an original tale within the Dark Souls universe. The story follows a nameless woman, awakened from a tomb with no recollection of her past. Accompanied by a protector bound by oath, she navigates the barren, perilous landscape to confront the Gray Cinders, a colossus incarnate of death, and a nightmare scourge from a bygone era. The fate of their land hangs in the balance as their journey unfolds.

Blondel, though relatively new to the manga scene, has notable writing credits, including the comic book adaptation of the Elric fantasy series. He founded Studio 1D and played a key role in creating a trade union for comic book writers. His experience in bringing complex narratives to life bodes well for this Dark Souls project.

The release of "Dark Souls: Redemption" marks another exciting addition to the franchise's literary ventures. Previously, Elden Ring received a gag reel manga, Bloodborne had a graphic novel series, and Sekiro featured a side story about Hanbei.

The Dark Souls series is renowned for its challenging gameplay and intricate lore. It has expanded into a massive franchise with three main games, several spin-offs to pay homage to the original games’ mechanics (and difficulty), and a devoted global fanbase who still play from time to time to find themselves wandering the ruins of Lordran, Drangleic and Lothric. Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, the franchise debuted in 2011 and has since sold millions of copies worldwide, becoming a landmark in the action RPG genre, subsequently creating the “Soulsborne” genre.

The upcoming manga is poised to add another layer to the rich Dark Souls tapestry, offering fans new content to explore and enjoy; and lastly, “Don’t you dare go hollow, my friend.”
