Croatia is set to become a major player in the gaming and esports world, with an upcoming new campus that has just received €26 million in funding.

The campus will include several buildings and facilities, designed to support gamers and esports professionals, including dorms, education spaces and an esports venue with 4,000 seats alongside the largest dedicated esports facility in Croatia. So, besides being fully equipped for esports matches and tournaments, the campus will also focus on education. There will be conferences, workshops, and other events designed to help people learn about careers in gaming and esports.

The project is mostly financed by the European Union (EU)’s ‘Just Transition’ Fund and is a significant milestone for the region of Novska, Croatia, which has seen several other smaller gaming-focused projects in preceding years. This campus aims to make Novska the centre for Croatia’s emerging gaming and game development industry, and it seems that it is an exciting development that will be just so.
