The widely disputed GOAT of football, Cristiano Ronaldo, seems to be all geared up to make his appearance in the fighting game franchise, Fatal Fury. In a social media post out of the blue, CR7 shared a video teasing his inclusion in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. While the video didn’t outright feature his character, it did hint at “a legendary player joining a legendary game".

What this entails remains to be seen for the time-being, but the collaboration has definitely turned heads worldwide. Some speculate that he could just feature as an alternate skin for one of the other playable characters, while others have been considering the possibility of a fighter CR7.

It makes sense why developers SNK would push Fatal Fury: CotW into the limelight like this. With its April 2025 release date approaching, it will soon have reached more than 25 years since the last instalment in the franchise. The fact that it isn’t nearly as popular as other titles in the fighting genre makes CotW’s publicity even more important. In that regard, having an icon such as Ronaldo be a part of the game will surely attract first-timers to try out the franchise or at least take note of it.

SNK has yet to comment on Ronaldo’s inclusion as of writing this piece. But with the Tokyo Game Show set to kick off later this week, we could be in for more information soon.
