Poland's largest game developer, CD Projekt, has reported a significant 88% year-on-year increase in net profit for the first half of 2024, reaching a whopping 170 million zlotys ($44.1 million). This impressive growth was driven by strong sales of the company's flagship title, ‘Cyberpunk 2077’, and its expansion, ‘Phantom Liberty’, which saw an 81% sales surge, amounting to about 257.7 million zlotys.
Revenue for the period rose by 31% to a total of 424.8 million zlotys, surpassing analysts' forecasts. CD Projekt is also advancing on ‘Project Polaris’, the first installment in the new ‘Witcher’ saga, with its development nearing the end of the preproduction phase.
Additionally, the company's Boston studio is laying the groundwork for ‘Project Orion’, a new game set in the ‘Cyberpunk’ universe. With both of the aforementioned projects and a very large team of active developers, CD Projekt continues to expand its ambitious portfolio. And only time will tell what fruits that will bear.
