Battlefield 2042, a game developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts in 2021, is introducing a new voice chat moderation tool to enhance in-game communication and behavior. The game has faced backlash due to bugs, and developers are now focusing on improving communication systems to address in-game toxicity among players. This latest update aims to ensure that players abide by EA's fair play rules.

Battlefield 2042 recently got its update 7.2.1 as a part of the developer's continuous efforts, addressing players' reports by fixing several minor issues. The bug making the character Mackay wander out of bounds on the Redacted map has been fixed, along with other issues that previously let players use disabled game functions. In addition, the devs have fixed issues related to scope attachments and weapon cosmetics to improve the overall experience.

According to a recent post from the Battlefield Comms' Twitter account, the new chat moderation feature allows players to report others for abusive, offensive, or harmful behavior in voice chats, reinforcing positive behavior within the community. This feature applies to any player violating the game's Positive Play Charter. The moderation system is mandatory, ensuring that EA's support teams take all reports seriously and review them thoroughly. The process is quick and easy, as players can directly report issues from the Squad and Players list in the pause menu.

With all of the upcoming changes in the game, it’s evident that EA's goal here is to foster teamwork and uphold the game's values through active moderation regarding voice and chat communications. That being said, it’s also exciting to see the measures that’ll be taken to form a strong barrier between toxic sweaty tryhards and newbies, alongside the toxic players’ creative efforts to express grief in more unique ways.
