Call of Duty players are now placing the Black Ops series above all else within the entire CoD franchise and dedicating themselves towards exclusively purchasing Black Ops/Treyarch games in the future.

Call of Duty has had trouble in ensuring the same level of satisfaction among the fans in recent years, especially with the new Modern Warfare trilogy. Carrying nearly 10,000 “Mostly negative” reviews on Steam under its name, the new MW3 may be the most poorly received CoD game of all time with many controversial points within the game leading to this point. However, the fans seem hopeful that Black Ops 6, led by Treyarch rather than MW’s Infinity Ward, won’t have most of these issues, and the result? A boycott on all of the upcoming non-Treyarch CoD games in the future.

According to a player on Reddit, Black Ops: Cold War was the only CoD game they’ve enjoyed since the start of new Modern Warfare in 2019. Furthermore, the Steam reviews show the same trend as well, with Modern Warfare 2019 having “mostly positive,” reviews, Vanguard having “mixed,” and Modern Warfare 2 having “overwhelmingly negative” reviews.

“Treyarch has always understood what makes a CoD game fun. As long as Treyarch continues making fun CoD games that, at a minimum, have good spawn logic and good maps, I will continue to buy their games,” said a player on Reddit, regarding the recent published IPs in the franchise.

While the company has been pumping out more and more CoD titles, it is evident that the re-releasing of titles have revoked the love players had for the franchise. A good example is killing John "Soap" Mactavish (again) in the most recent Modern Warfare 3 release (again). With these disappointments stacking on Infinity Ward's timeline, it is understandable, however, for fans to make these rash but coherent claims.
