Gamescom’s ‘Opening Night Live’ showcase, held on Tuesday, had many exciting announcements to offer, but only one announcement in particular has stood out to be way more remarkable than the rest. And surprisingly, it wasn’t a game. Instead, it was a new anthology series from Amazon Prime Video, titled Secret Level. The show is set to follow an episodic structure, with each episode focusing on a different character from a different game universe and their distinctive journeys through the unique settings of each universe. Said game universes will be from both upcoming titles and some of the most iconic games of all time.

Secret Level will feature 15 original short stories set within the world of beloved video games including ‘God of War’, ‘PAC-MAN’, ‘Warhammer 40K’, ‘Concord’, ‘Mega Man’, ‘Unreal Tournament’, ‘New World: Aeternum’, ‘Armored Core’, ‘Spelunky’, ‘Honor of Kings’, ‘Sifu’, ‘Dungeons & Dragons’, ‘The Outer Worlds’, ‘Crossfire’, ‘Exodus’ and various other beloved Playstation IPs.

This project comes from a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studios, the creators of Netflix’s first animated anthology, Love, Death + Robots. Tim Miller and Dave Wilson serve as executive producers with Dave Wilson serving as supervising director. This anthology series will also be animated in similar style to Love, Death + Robots and will be exclusively available to stream on Prime Video starting December 10.
