For almost a year now, the inaugural Esports World Cup has been making waves globally as the biggest, most unprecedented gaming and Esports showdown in history. It just received a massive boost as The Esports World Cup Foundation, the organisers of the Esports World Cup, announced a massive partnership with global sportswear brand Adidas.
Henceforth, Adidas will act as the official merchandise sponsor of the entire event and provide participants with an exclusive line of clothing and premium gear, with an aim to “support their pursuit of victory”. The athletes aren’t the only ones who will receive premium Adidas kits; the partnership also extends to the event staff, with EWC crew, ushers, and access control personnel donning co-branded Adidas apparel.
About the partnership, Bilal Fares, Managing Director KSA, Adidas, said, “Building on the success of our Gamers8 partnership, Adidas is thrilled to join forces with the Esports World Cup, a global leader in esports and gaming. Our return to Riyadh underscores our commitment to this dynamic community. This collaboration highlights Adidas' dedication to the Kingdom's growing gaming scene and our ongoing exploration of sports and entertainment."
Set to kick off in all its glory on July 03, the inaugural Esports World Cup will feature 22 game championships for a share of more than 60 million USD in prize money — the largest prize pool in esports history. The mega-event will span across eight weeks, each filled with countless gaming activities, community tournaments, pop culture celebrations, international experiences, and more.
