Riot recently introduced its own version of ‘hall of fame’ called the ‘Hall of Legends’. The first player to be recognized is none other than the widely acknowledged League of Legends player, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok. With his induction into the hall of legends, Riot has announced 3 new bundles of skins celebrating Faker’s achievements over the years. While the skins are some of the best Riot has ever produced, fans are not thrilled with the hefty $500 price tag.

When thinking about League of Legends esports, Faker immediately comes to mind. The T1 mid-laner is widely considered one of the best players of all time, with 4 Worlds titles and numerous other domestic and international accolades. He was recently added to the League of Legends Hall of Legends, and Riot has announced 3 special skin bundles featuring Ahri to celebrate.

Among the 3 bundles, there's the Signature Immortalized Legend Collection, which includes cool upgrades like an animation of Faker’s signature move and a special finisher showcasing Faker’s digital autograph. You can get all of these for just 59,260 RP, which is about 500 USD. The community wasn't too happy about the pricing, with someone even pointing out that you could buy all of the Ahri skins in the game and 26 other skins with that amount of money. People are criticizing Riot for this and accusing them of exploiting Faker for profit. Riot is known for its controversies, but this has really stirred things up due to Faker’s involvement. Even though it was meant to celebrate Faker’s achievements, it has turned into a controversy around Riot's business practices.

While there is debate over whether this constitutes exploitation of Faker's most devoted fans, many are legitimately concerned about the potential normalization of such practices. While we hope this isn't the case, it prompts us to consider how the pricing of in-game items may evolve in the future.
